Cécile Dubois

Saxophone

Cécile Dubois performs as a soloist and chamber musician; she also teaches her instrument, notably at the Conservatoire du Grand Besançon.

After studying at the conservatories in Lyon and Boulogne-Billancourt, Cécile Dubois was admitted to the Paris Conservatory (studying under Daniel Deffayet, then Claude Delangle and David Walter). She was unanimously awardedFirstPrize there in 1990.

She has won numerous competitions, including the international competitions in Paris (1990) and Gap (1991), as well asfirstprizes at the Royaume de la Musique, UFAM, and Bellan competitions; she has performed at many festivals, including La Folle Journée in Nantes, Aix-en-Provence, Montpellier, and Edinburgh…
She has collaborated with prestigious conductors such as Georges Prêtre, Kent Nagano, Péter Eötvös, Emmanuel Krivine, Michel Plasson, Louis Langré, Katsushi Ono, Tugan Sokhiev, and Jean-François Verdier…

She has been invited to perform with the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre de Paris, and the Opéra National de Lyon; she is also a saxophonist with the OrchestreVictor-HugoFranche-Comté.

She holds a Certificate of Qualification to Teach Saxophone and teaches at the Conservatoire du Grand Besançon; her class attracts students from France as well as from around the world.

She serves as an academic advisor at institutions of higher education (ESM in Dijon, CEFEDEM in Metz) and is a member of numerous examination boards for instrumental and pedagogical programs (CNFPT, DE, CA, CNSM in Paris, etc.).
